AWS Big Data Meetup May 5 in Palo Alto: Explore the Power of Machine Learning in the Cloud

Join and RSVP!

AWS Speaker

Guy Ernest, business development manager for machine learning services in AWS

“No Dr., or How I Learned to Stop Debugging and Love the Robot” In this talk, Guy will dicuss what developers must know to explore the power of machine learning services in the cloud. Using data to build machine learning models is a powerful alternative for heuristic or handwritten rules. This power is not limited to people with Ph.D. or MSc. in machine learning, statistics or computer science, but can be used successfully by competent developers. You will learn how to get started and how to think in machine learning terms when developing your next smart application.

Bring your laptop! Guy will walk you through simple steps for creating a numeric regression machine learning model using Amazon Machine Learning.

“Birds of a Feather” Discussions

After Guy’s discussion, we’ll break into groups to discuss topics of interest.

About AWS Big Data Meetups

The AWS Big Data Meetup brings Big Data developers and enthusiasts together to discuss Big Data solutions with each other and AWS team members. At the event you will hear speakers from AWS and the wider community who are pushing the boundaries of Big Data. We are committed to maintaining a technical focus, and invite you to participate as a guest or as a speaker. There will be food and plenty of time for one-on-one conversations.

Check out the video from an earlier meetup. Netflix talks about how they use Spark & Presto, and AWS speaker Rahul Bhartia discusses Hadoop Security.
